SmartFish is a fish shaped airplane. The project is about building a complete navigation system and ground station for it. The first big experiment will be an autonomous flight from a balloon at 15km of altitude. The experiment is part of the RexusBexus campaign for 2009. Posted on April 15th, 2009 4 commentsToday was an exciting day. The mock-up is closer to be finished, people from Astilleros Venturi did a great job crafting all the pieces from the molds.

Now is time to pay attention to the details, placing the rudder, the motor, electronics… all have to be with precision to respect the center of gravity and stability of the SpaceFish.

Also, we are making our own little gondola, with this angle to provide a ramp to drop the SpaceFish, from our meteorological balloon. Performing several tests the next month, all have to be ready before the real BEXUS campaign next October.
